I can't name the song but the chorus keeps saying "Jenny I've got your number." So I have a funny story to go along with this. I got a text awhile ago that said, "Guess how my Monday started. Jenny and I were in a car accident...the car was totalled..." and at the end it had an S. The first thing I think is Jenny and Serge just told us they are expecting a baby and I hope they're okay. Well it turns out that the text was not from Serge and Jenny. But I couldn't think of anyone else that I knew really well named Jenny and what was the S at the end for; was it a really strange coincidence? No it turns out a girl in my ward was in a car with her sister Jenny and they were in an accident. I felt silly because they are both in my FHE group for church and the S at the end actually was an emoticon ":S" which I can see would be appropriate for the situation. If my phone hadn't died, deleting many of my stored numbers then I would have known who it was from but it did make for an interesting evening trying to figure out who had sent me a text.
I know I haven't written in a long time. I had several things I thought about writing but no internet connection has held me back and once again I am not too exciting of a person. Right now I am hoping to make it through next week and the book fair. For those who are not librarians you will think, "Book fairs are great! What is she talking about?" Well you have never had to set one up. Also that last time I had a book fair at my school we were broken into and I had my projector stolen- it was not a happy time. Sadly this morning when I got to school I found out that someone had broken into the school again, nothing was taken from the library this time but with the book fair coming up I am worried that it has some sort of evil influence, another theory that was mentioned to me was that it is Friday the 13th. Either way I am very upset with whoever broke in, stealing from a school is pretty low- one of the only other places I can think of that would be worse is a medical facility. Anyway if I don't post for awhile it is probably that I have to recover from the fair, and that I am probably just too uninspired to write.
Something fun for me is that one of the last times I called Serge and Jenny Serge got Annabelle to say hi to me. He tried to get her to say, "Hi, Aunt Katie." It wasn't working but when he changed it to, "Hi Katie," it was much better. Those kids just impress me all of the time. I love them so much and they live so far away. It makes me think of the song "Somewhere Out There," from
An American Tale. That is a great movie. Writing about great movies reminds me of a great cd I own- "The Scarlet Pimpernel." If you ever have the chance to see the musical DO IT. I've seen it twice and the music is just amazing- I have found I sound much better when singing along with the Broadway stars on my album.
As a librarian I think I should pass along great reads to those around me- and I would welcome any suggestions from you. For those who are interested in WWII a couple of really great books are: The Book Thief, A Girl Named Eva, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, and several books written by Susan Bartoletti. Susan Bartoletti often writes about the people who resisted the SS and Nazis in Germany and included among those she mentions is a boy name Helmuth Hubener (I may have misspelled that)- anyway he was an LDS boy in Germany who would listen to BBC radio programs and then print what he had heard and distribute the flyers. These are all really good books and they remind me of how blessed I am.
