Okay I said I would post pics of my place soon, but soon is a relative term and I also haven't been able to take any pictures yet so we will see when that actually happens. I have never posted pictures to the blog and would have to figure out how before that happens too.
So things that have been happening since the last post. My house is more set-up, I have furniture, etc in and feel at home here. Serge and Jenny came to visit with their family at the end of my school year. It was so much fun. Their kids are adorable and every day when they went to bed I was drained of energy. I am now surprised that parents have any energy after their kids go to sleep.
Liza was a joy just to hold, at first she wanted her Mama all the time but about half way through the visit she would let others hold her when Mom was in the room. Jenny was obviously still the preferred person but Eliza would stay with you unless you got too close to Jenny.
I taught Annabelle the "Lobster Song" I don't know its real title but you use all sorts of seafood/water life terms in the song that sound like other words. For instance the first word in the chorus are, "Oh, I lobster, never flounder." Which translates to, "Oh I lost her, never found her." I had meant for Andrew to learn it but he seemed completely uninterested while Annabelle went for it wholeheartedly. I try to sing it with her when she gets on the phone now and she has sung along a little. Her hair is so curly, I love it. I must admit I used to look at the pictures on the blog and think that Jenny (and Serge) should do more with it and how cute it would be if she just spent the time to brush it thoroughly. I sincerely apologize Jenny, I would brush Annabelle's hair and it would stay looking like that for about 5 minutes before it would revert back to looking like it did before- curls that have a mind of their own. Obviously having straight hair I didn't understand the foibles of curly locks- and no matter how sleek or somewhat poufy her hair look like in pictures now I think it is cute.
Andrew is a "smarty pants" in generally the best sense of the term. He is an amazing reader for his age and loves numbers, knowing way too much for a child who hasn't even begun kindergarten. Just so you know Kelli (she is the only person I know that reads my blog when I post so I might as well give her a shout out) Serge has taught him about negative numbers and decimals. I really don't know what his teachers will think about him understanding that much about numbers but if nothing else it will give them something to talk about with their fellow teachers. I don't know if it is because he is: the oldest child, a boy, or part of who he is but sometimes being a "smarty pants" means he tries to be sneaky (or is just curious) and that can lead to trouble.
This is a long post and I need to go but I think you get the idea. My nieces and nephew are beautiful, smart, and all around amazing and I love them all so much.
Bye!!
